Illuminating a construction site with zone lighting

Area lighting, also known as 360° lighting, is a lighting device that provides optimum visibility on any of your worksites. They are highly appreciated and used in many sectors, including construction, roadworks, industry and emergency services.

They are generally high-powered and can illuminate medium to very large worksites, even in complete darkness.

Zone lighting, advantages and disadvantages

These lights are designed to be placed high up, to provide good 360°, glare-free illumination, with very little cast shadow. Some, such as the K65 or K45, are masts with integrated lighting heads, while others, such as the LUMAPHORE®, require an additional mast . We offer 2 models of telescopic masts , a 4-meter model and a 5-meter model with manual winch.

The advantages of our zone lighting :

  • They can illuminate very large work areas with a single lighting device, thus reducing installation and operating costs.
  • They leave no area of your worksite unlit, providing safety for everyone, everywhere.
  • These lights are generally high-powered, guaranteeing excellent illumination everywhere.
  • Glare-free light
  • No programmed obsolescence
  • Quick to install (approx. 2 minutes to set up a LUMAPHORE®)
  • High luminous efficiency: high power output with low/moderate power consumption (approx. 150 Lumens/watt)

However, they do have a few minor drawbacks:

  • It's difficult to pinpoint the exact direction of a zone light, since they're designed to illuminate large areas and are more suited to outdoor worksites.
  • Although compact, they generally take up more space than construction site floodlights.
  • They generally require a power supply or energy source to be nearby.

ELC has developed solutions to overcome these problems. For example, we've created the possibility of choosing between 180° and 360° lighting for our LUMAPHORE®, using a box that allows you to choose the area you want to light over another. When it comes to transport space, we supply all our LUMAPHORE® with a sturdy, practical flight-case. And for power, we offer a wide range of rechargeable site batteries and soundproof (or non-soundproof) generators. We also offer self-contained lighting systems such as the K8, K9 and K10 floodlights, or the BG40 lighting kit.

360° lighting, the ideal solution for all your installations

If you don't want to forget any area or personnel on your worksites, there's nothing better than 360° lighting! They can illuminate large areas completely uniformly.

ELC develops and manufactures the ideal solution to ensure that your worksites are never short of light: LUMAPHORE®, a high-quality Made In France solution, with wattages ranging from 29,900 Lumens to 220,800 Lumens, and capable of illuminating up to 6,000m²! As well as being extremely powerful, these solutions are also extremely practical, and can be installed in 2-3 minutes. Our LUMAPHORE® luminaires can also be fitted with additional control gear, enabling the luminaire to be switched on at 180° or 360°, which can be very practical on some worksites, to light one area more precisely than another and thus save energy.

We also offer powerful, highly mobile lighting masts, such as the K65 MK5 with 195,000 Lumens or the K45 Lite with 83,000 Lumens. These complete solutions have been designed to be practical and quick to set up, despite their large size. They both fold in on themselves, making them easy to transport and take to your worksites.

Some products in our range, such as the K10 or K9 rechargeable spotlight, feature 180° or 360° swivel heads, enabling them to be used as spotlights, searchlights or area lights.
