Where are our LUMAPHORE® manufactured?

Our LUMAPHORE® products are manufactured entirely in France at our warehouse in Orchies (59), in the Hauts-de-France region.

Is it a 100% French product?

Our LUMAPHORE® products are 100% French, certified "French Fab" since 2022 and "Fabriqués en France" since 2023.

Are you a player in the local economy?

Yes, 80% of our components are manufactured less than 100km from our warehouse in Orchies.

What is a LUMAPHORE®?

A LUMAPHORE® is a type of lighting balloon with a 360° tubular lighting head. The LUMAPHORE® is suitable for use in construction, public works, industry, rescue, events, cinema, sports and law enforcement. It is delivered with a flight-case. ELC offers several LUMAPHORE® ranges: L, XL compact, XL high-power, XLG, PREMIUM, TBT and MINILITE®.

Why choose a LUMAPHORE® site lighting balloon rather than a traditional spotlight?

The LUMAPHORE® lighting balloon provides 360° lighting without shadows or glare, ideal for all your worksites. This equipment is safe (24V), lightweight and above all quick to install. Much more powerful than a traditional spotlight, it combines visual comfort, robustness (up to IP65 / IK10) and efficiency.

What are the different LUMAPHORE® ranges?

ELC offers seven ranges of LUMAPHORE® to provide our operators with the solution best suited to their needs.
Our least powerful LUMAPHORE® is the MINILITE®, ideal for indoor precision work and suitable for craftsmen. In addition, we offer the L series of lightweight, compact models. The XL series comprises two versatile compact models and two high-power models. The XLG series offers an additional feature: variable light intensity. The PREMIUM series is dimmable to 180° and 360°. ELC also presents a TBT series for very low voltage 12V and 24V requirements.

Are LUMAPHORE® LEDs suitable for tough working conditions?

All our LUMAPHORE® products are designed to meet the specific working conditions of our professionals. They can be used between -15°C and +40°C. What's more, our LUMAPHORE® are certified from IP44 to IP65 and from IK08 to IK10. In harsh weather conditions, our LUMAPHORE® can withstand winds of up to 162 km/h.

What surface area can a LUMAPHORE® illuminate?

LUMAPHORE® designed by ELC illuminate large surfaces. Our smallest model, the MINILITE®, the perfect light for our craftsmen working indoors, illuminates up to 300m². Our largest models, the LUMAPHORE® 1000XL and 1500XL, have lighting surfaces of 4,500m² and 6,000m² respectively.

When should I use a LUMAPHORE® lighting balloon?

All our LUMAPHORE® construction lighting balloons are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of sectors, including construction, roadworks, emergency services, industry, events, cinema, sports and law enforcement.

How are LUMAPHORE® packaged?

To ensure proper transport and protection, all our LUMAPHORE® are packaged in an extremely robust flight-case . For LUMAPHORE® 1000XL and 1500XL models, the flight-case is equipped with castors and two handles for easy handling.

Can LUMAPHORE® be used indoors and outdoors?

All our LUMAPHORE® L, XL, XLG, PREMIUM and TBT ranges are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, thanks to their protection rating (up to IP65 / IK10), temperature resistance (from -15°C to +40°C) and wind resistance (approx. 162 km/h). For indoor work, MINILITE® is the lighting balloon to meet the needs of craftsmen for finishing work.

What are the different LUMAPHORE® accessories?

In order to offer you the most complete lighting solution, our LUMAPHORE® are accompanied by a wide range of accessories. ELC offers suspension rings, electrical plugs, magnetic brackets and DIN sleeves (24mm, 26mm or 28mm). See our accessories page for more information.

What are the different tripod accessories?

With its three tripods designed for LUMAPHORE® use, ELC offers various tripod accessories: carrying case, tripod (4m or 5m), tripod guying kit (4m or 5m), DIN sleeve adapter, ballast kit, tripod wheels and generator support.

Installation and use

How to install a LUMAPHORE®?

Installing a LUMAPHORE® is quick and easy. It only takes about two minutes. Simply position the tripod on the surface of your choice and attach the lighting balloon head to it. Then all that's left to do is connect the LUMAPHORE® to a power source suitable for the model. Our LUMAPHORE® can also be suspended from a hook or even magnetized to a surface. For power requirements, ELC also offers site batteries and generators for areas without a power source.

How do you maintain your site lighting balloon?

As with any lighting product, periodic maintenance is necessary to ensure the proper use and performance of your LUMAPHORE®. In general, for our LUMAPHORE® ranges, it is essential to clean the foam filter after each use. To find out what type of maintenance is required for each LUMAPHORE® model, please refer to the instructions for use.

What is the power consumption of LUMAPHORE® luminous balloons?

LUMAPHORE® lighting balloons consume very little energy. However, they offer a very high light output of around 150 Lumens. LUMAPHORE® balloons offer high luminous flux with low energy consumption.

Can LUMAPHORE® be transported in a commercial vehicle?

Transporting LUMAPHORE® to your various worksites is easy and convenient in your various utility vehicles. The flight-case allows you to move your LUMAPHORE® in complete safety. What's more, larger flight-case models come with built-in castors for easy manoeuvrability between job sites.

Is the tripod included?

For all our LUMAPHORE® models, the tripod is optional. ELC offers different tripod sizes: 4-meter telescopic tripod and 5-meter winch tripod. For an all-in-one option, ELC has designed a special flight model called the TITAN Kit, in which you can store a LUMAPHORE® light accompanied by its tripod and a guy kit. Please note that the MINILITE is only available as a TITAN Kit.

How long do LUMAPHORE® LEDs last?

The LEDs included in all LUMAPHORE® models provide over 50,000 hours of illumination. They offer a high quality of illumination.

What is the light output of an LED flare?

LUMAPHORE® output varies according to the series chosen. It ranges from 8,120 Lumens for the MINILITE® to 220,800 Lumens for the LUMAPHORE 1,500XLG.

Are LUMAPHORE® products weatherproof?

LUMAPHORE® luminaires are tough and rugged enough to cope with all the conditions under which our professionals work. With protection ratings up to IP65 and IK10, they are dust-tight and protected against low-voltage jets. What's more, our LUMAPHORE® have a maximum wind resistance of 162 km/h.

How high should you use your LUMAPHORE® on a tripod?

ELC offers three tripod models specially designed for LUMAPHORE® use. With their electro-galvanized design, these tripods are robust and offer excellent stability. The 4 and 5-meter models feature an adjustable foot for use on inclined surfaces.

How to feed your LUMAPHORE®?

ELC offers a range of LUMAPHORE® with 230V and 12V/24V power supplies, and even 110V for the 600XL. To meet the energy needs of our lighting systems, we offer a range of power supply solutions, including generators, energy cases and site batteries.

How do I maintain a LUMAPHORE®?

The maintenance of our balloon illuminators must be carried out with the power off. We recommend cleaning the LUMAPHORE® foam filter after each use. What can I do if I've lost the instructions for my product?

Instructions for each product can be downloaded directly from the ELC website on the product page. They can also be requested by e-mail from your sales contact.

Can I return a product?

It is not possible to return a product except in case of malfunction. In this case, please refer to your sales contact.

Is it possible to try a product before buying it?

It is possible to change your order after validation by adding or removing products. If the product is in stock, the change does not require any additional time.
