Illuminate your worksites with our LUMAPHORE® lighting balloons
Since its creation in 2006, ELC's flares have constantly evolved and adapted to the different needs of professionals in a wide range of situations.
Our LUMAPHORE®, also known as construction lighting balloons, are distinguished by their robust design. Their polycarbonate outer tube guarantees exceptional strength and resistance to demanding conditions, with a protection rating of up to IP65. These balloons provide powerful light thanks to a remarkable light output of around 150 Lumens per watt, while maintaining low energy consumption - ideal for combining efficiency and economy.
In addition to their sturdiness and reliability, LUMAPHORE® lighting balloons are extremely versatile. Thanks to their integrated control box, they can be customized to suit your needs.
For example, they can be fitted with an ON/OFF button to switch the light on or off without disconnecting the power supply, a 180°/360° button to choose between partial or full mode, and a dimmer button for precise adjustment of light intensity, from 1% to 100%.
Designed in tubular form, our LUMAPHORE® provide uniform 360° illumination, without glare or light loss, for optimum visibility in any situation.
Our plus? Our entire range of LUMAPHORE® lighting balloons comes with a sturdy, compact flight-case for transport. For larger models, our flight-cases are equipped with castors for easy transport.
These features make LUMAPHORE® an optimum lighting solution. However, to guarantee its long-term performance, it is essential to use, maintain and service it correctly.
How do I use my worksite lighting balloon?
To ensure optimal, long-lasting use of your LUMAPHORE® worksite lighting balloon, it's essential to follow certain best practices. Designed to be easy to use and not to add to your workload, our lighting balloons do require a few precautions to ensure their reliability and efficiency.
When commissioning for the first time, remember to remove the protective film around the diffusion tube. Always use a power supply with a regulated voltage, such as Inverter or, at the very least, AVR. This guarantees a stable luminous flux and protects electronic components from overvoltage.
Before each connection, check the general condition of your LUMAPHORE® : make sure that the diffuser casing is intact and that the power cable is undamaged.
For safe operation, please observe the following instructions:
- Ventilation: check that the fan is working properly and that the lighting is switched on according to the settings you have chosen (180° or 360°).
- Weather conditions: to ensure stability, do not use LUMAPHORE® in winds of over 162 km/h.
- Orientation: always install LUMAPHORE® in a vertical position, with the sleeve pointing downwards. A maximum tilt of 15° is acceptable if necessary.
Never attempt to work on an energized LUMAPHORE®. In the event of maintenance or adjustment, make sure the device is switched off and unplugged. Finally, when your lighting balloon reaches the end of its service life, dispose of it in accordance with the European Union directive on the management of electronic waste.
These instructions for use, clearly detailed in the manual supplied with each product, will enable you to take full advantage of your equipment's performance. By following them, you'll ensure a long life for your LUMAPHORE® and optimum working conditions on your job site. Correct use of your site equipment is essential, but so is proper maintenance to guarantee its efficiency and longevity.
How do you maintain your site lighting balloon?
With regular, appropriate maintenance, your LUMAPHORE® lighting balloon will remain efficient and reliable, even in the most demanding conditions.
Cooling your LUMAPHORE® relies on a fan that draws in outside air through a filtration system. This comprises three main elements: the foam filter located under the spray shield at the base of the LUMAPHORE®, the stainless steel filter grid located under the foam filter, and the filter ring integrated into the lid.
Cleaning these components depends on the environment in which you work. In normally dusty areas, monthly cleaning is sufficient. In very dusty environments, however, weekly cleaning is recommended.
The foam filter should be blown out or rinsed with clean water, then dried thoroughly. If necessary, it should be replaced. The stainless steel filter grid should be cleaned by gentle vacuuming to avoid damaging the fabric, while the filter ring should be gently dusted, also preferably by vacuuming.
The diffusion tube, another key element of your lighting balloon, also requires regular maintenance. It's easy to clean with a sponge soaked in hot water and washing-up liquid. It's important never to scrub dry or use chemical or abrasive products. In the event of tube breakage, it is imperative to gently turn the head of the device upside down to remove any debris.
Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, it is essential to ensure that your LUMAPHORE® is de-energized. In addition, we strongly recommend that you use only original ELC spare parts to ensure that your product's performance, certifications and warranties are maintained. If a complex repair is required, please contact your ELC distributor.
Careful, regular maintenance of your lighting balloon will help you maintain optimum performance and extend the life of your equipment, while ensuring ideal working conditions.
If you have any problems or questions concerning the maintenance of your LUMAPHORE® lighting balloon, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our team is at your disposal to provide you with the assistance you need, and to ensure that your equipment works at its best.
