Every day, firefighters face extreme conditions, whether in natural or urban environments. France offers a wide variety of landscapes, where nature and urbanism intermingle: forests, countryside, mountains... Landscapes that are sometimes crossed by highways, tunnels, and other industrial zones. In all these regions, as varied as they are hybrid, the worst fires can occur in the blink of an eye. The goal of the firemen is to be as reactive as efficient.
Moreover, fire multiplies the dangers. First of all, there is the heat, which can melt the equipment. Then there is the smoke and flames which, among other things, greatly impede visibility. Emergency services must be able to quickly establish an observation and coordination post to fight fires.
Safe lighting for extreme conditions
Firefighters need equipment that is as reliable and efficient as their working conditions are extreme. First of all, they need equipment that can be adapted in a versatile way to the various sites of their operations. LUMAPHORE® lamps have been laboratory tested to ensure their resistance to the elements. On the one hand, our balloons can withstand winds of up to 162 km/h. On the other hand, they offer an IK10 protection rating, which is the maximum mechanical resistance. Our flares can withstand an impact of 20 joules, i.e. a mass of 5 kg, falling from a height of 400 mm(standard EN 62-262).
